Thesis....Future of HuggingFace

Are there still experts here with a genuine interest in science, or has Hugging Face simply become a social media platform for nerds? Why is it that only superficial topics receive attention while nearly no one is willing to engage in serious research? Are we living in an entirely self-centered world where the desire for fame outweighs the willingness to assist others?

…particularly because I have been dedicated to developing a firewall for quite some time, yet I have found almost no one willing (except RFTsystems and John6666) to collaborate. Does this stem from the project being too complex or perhaps unappealing? It is striking that superficial posts receive significant engagement—why is that? I am looking for the underlying reasons why this community is so selective in its focus, especially on topics that will be of vital importance in the future. Just Research - nothing more….

Hugging Face is crucial infrastructure for many AI communities online, yet the community around Hugging Face itself is rather sparse.

I first encountered HF nearly two years ago, so I’m unaware of its history or state before that… but I believe it was already close to its current state back then.

For science and robotics around Hugging Face, perhaps the community shifted to Discord…?

I personally prefer open forums on the open web because they’re searchable, and proper interactions there make Agentic AI responses smarter, for example. But it’s undeniable that managing open communities is difficult on the today internet…
