# Additional Pages Implementation - 2025-11-16

## Summary

Built out **Login** and **Settings** pages (Tasks T105-T109, T120), added React Router for navigation, and implemented protected routes.

## What Was Built

### 1. Auth Service (T105-T107)
**File**: `frontend/src/services/auth.ts`

Functions:
- `login()` - Redirect to `/auth/login` for HF OAuth
- `getCurrentUser()` - GET `/api/me` to fetch user profile
- `getToken()` - POST `/api/tokens` to generate new API token
- `logout()` - Clear token and redirect
- `isAuthenticated()` - Check if user has token
- `getStoredToken()` - Get current token from localStorage

### 2. Login Page (T108)
**File**: `frontend/src/pages/Login.tsx`

Features:
- ✅ Centered card layout with app branding
- ✅ "Sign in with Hugging Face" button (primary)
- ✅ "Continue as Local Dev" button (for development)
- ✅ Clean, professional dark mode design
- ✅ Responsive layout

Local dev mode sets a dummy token in localStorage for testing without backend OAuth.

### 3. Settings Page (T109, T120)
**File**: `frontend/src/pages/Settings.tsx`

Features:
- ✅ **Profile Card**
  - User avatar (from HF profile or fallback initials)
  - Username and user ID display
  - Vault path
  - Sign Out button

- ✅ **API Token Card**
  - Bearer token display (password field)
  - Copy to clipboard button (with success feedback)
  - "Generate New Token" button
  - MCP configuration example with actual token

- ✅ **Index Health Card**
  - Note count display
  - Last updated timestamp
  - Last full rebuild timestamp
  - "Rebuild Index" button with loading state
  - Success message after rebuild

### 4. Routing & Protected Routes
**File**: `frontend/src/App.tsx`

Added React Router v6:
- `/login` - Public login page
- `/` - Protected main app (requires auth)
- `/settings` - Protected settings page (requires auth)
- Auto-redirect to `/login` if not authenticated

### 5. Navigation Integration

**Updated MainApp.tsx**:
- Added Settings button (gear icon) in header
- Clicking navigates to `/settings`
- Back button in Settings returns to `/`

## Dark Mode

All pages use dark mode by default (set in `main.tsx`).

## Backend Integration Status

Pages are **fully built** but show loading states or errors because backend APIs don't exist yet:

- Login page: Works (local dev mode bypasses OAuth)
- Settings page:
  - Profile: Shows "Loading user data..." (needs `GET /api/me`)
  - API Token: Shows token from localStorage (needs `POST /api/tokens`)
  - Index Health: Shows "Loading index health..." (needs `GET /api/index/health`)
  - Rebuild Index: Button present (needs `POST /api/index/rebuild`)

## What Works Right Now

✅ Login page displays
✅ Local dev login works (sets token, redirects to main app)
✅ Protected routes redirect to login if no token
✅ Settings page displays with proper layout
✅ Token copy to clipboard works
✅ Navigation between pages works
✅ Back button works
✅ Sign out clears token and returns to login

## What Needs Backend

⏳ HF OAuth flow (backend routes `/auth/login`, `/auth/callback`)
⏳ User profile data (`GET /api/me`)
⏳ Token generation (`POST /api/tokens`)
⏳ Index health data (`GET /api/index/health`)
⏳ Index rebuild (`POST /api/index/rebuild`)

## Testing

### Login Page
1. Navigate to http://localhost:5173/
2. Should redirect to `/login` (no token)
3. Click "Continue as Local Dev"
4. Should redirect to main app

### Settings Page
1. From main app, click Settings icon (⚙️)
2. Should show Settings page with 3 cards
3. Profile shows "Loading..." (expected - no backend)
4. Token shows "local-dev-token"
5. Click Copy button → token copied to clipboard
6. Index Health shows "Loading..." (expected - no backend)

### Navigation
1. Click Back button → returns to main app
2. Click Settings icon → returns to settings
3. Sign out from settings → returns to login page

All navigation works perfectly!

## Summary

**3 new pages built and integrated**:
- ✅ Login page with HF OAuth + local dev mode
- ✅ Settings page with profile, tokens, and index health
- ✅ Routing with protected routes

**Ready for backend integration** - Once you implement the backend auth routes (T095-T104), the pages will be fully functional!
